NOTE FROM THE COACH:
WOW -- our first meet of the 1999 season was a great success! Mycompliments to our swimmers for really getting after those races and bringing home the team points! So many of you implemented so much of the "technique" work we've had only a very short time to practice. This makes us coaches very happy and excited for what's to come in the following weeks. Keep up the good work!

Of course, without the volunteer help of so many Orca parents it none of this would be possible. First, a special thank you to our club President, Peggy Little, and our volunteer coordinator, Tracy Hall, for all the pre-season preparation, organizing and running around they have done. Thanks for your special care of the Orcas!

As for the success at our first meet I would like to say many, many thanks to our meet director, Lisa Webster, our ready bench coordinator, Lisa Edwards, our computer experts, lead by Bruce Butler, and all the other age-group parents who for the first two hours of Saturday morning (not to mention many wee hours prior to everyone else's wake-up calls) suffered a
week's worth of stress .. but didn't let on even a bit. This upstairs "dream team" was just that.

On deck, the meet ran extremely well. My thanks to all of the coordinators and their volunteers who, throughout the day: timed, ran, officiated, fed us all, cheered the swimmers, and generally helped make it such a good meet.

Fun was had by all. See you at regular practice hours this week. Please make sure that by Tuesday I get your meet entry for the June 5th meet at Great Hills. If you have any questions, comments, compliments -- you can email me at: swimdoc@texas.net
